Historic Oakland Cemetery is Atlanta's oldest public park and the final resting place of many notable citizens. Located less than a mile from downtown, the 48-acre park is full of treasures such as history, gardens, sculptures, architecture, and ancient trees. It serves multiple purposes as a wedding venue, green space, art gallery, classroom, and a place to celebrate the city's history and future. The gardens feature daffodils, mums, and flowering trees. The park has over 1,400 trees with some nearly 200 years old. Some of the notable people buried here include Margaret Mitchell, Bobby Jones, and Kenny Rogers.
